"Virtual" Touring the Redondo Spa
Tue, 2009-08-25 12:14 — HerInteractive
Some of our fans may have seen screenshots of a project that we've been working on on our Twitter feed and we are excited that it's finally come to life! For the past few weeks, we've been creating a website for the Redondo Spa in preparation for the launch of Nancy Drew Dossier: Resorting to Danger which hits stores today. You can also purchase boxed product or download the game.
We wanted to create a fun site that would get people interested in the game by showing them more of the game universe and giving them a feel of what it would be like to actually be in the mystery. We considered a few options for the website: highlighting treatments in a brochure, creating a tabloid magazine, creating a website for the spa. After some debate, we settled on creating a website for the Redondo Spa and then taking it one step further by adding a Virtual Tour. Afterall, going to the Redondo Spa would be an unparalleled experience in luxury and indulgence that very few could afford! This would be the perfect way to make people want to go to the spa and then 'experience' it in the game.
While we had a lot of fun coming up with the content for the Reviews and Latest News section (super sleuths may notice a few references), the part that's the most fun is the Virtual Tour. Not only do fans get to snoop through the reception area of the Rednondo that's actually in the game, they get to find little bread crumbs relating to the mystery. If you look around, you'll find business cards, a somewhat incriminating memo, and even a receipt. We were even able to include some gossip that didn't make it into the game.
So what are you waiting for? Take the Virtual Tour of the Redondo Spa at www.ResortingtoDanger.com!
PS.How many hidden activities have you found? Post your list in the comments!
PPS. sometimes if you click on an object multiple times, it will do different things.

Sorry, it's been a long time since we've posted again!!! You would think that we would post more often as we are launching products because there is so much to share and say, but unfortunately, we just get busier and have a harder time squeezing in the blog posts. We'll still try our best to post on the Dare to Play blog on a weekly basis, but you can also check our website, Twitter, Facebook, and Amateur Sleuth pages for up to date information.
The first thing we want to make sure everyone knows:
NANCY DREW DOSSIER: RESORTING TO DANGER will be in stores and available for download next week on 8/25!!!
Yes, we're very excited to present the second game in our new Dossier series that's Fast Fun for Busy Detectives. We learned a lot from Lights, Camera, Curses and we think that our fans will like this game even better. If you haven't played the Dossier series games yet, check out these two links:
Lights, Camera, Curses demo
Resorting to Danger demo (shhhhhh, secret link!)
And if you are still on the fence about the game, check out the reviews from our fans on the Message Board. Keep in mind, it's not the Adventure series, so it won't be as mind-boggling, but it is still a great case to crack with fun arcade style puzzles and 6 alternate endings.
We'd like to share some concept art with you for the characters in Resorting to Danger. It's not often we get to see the concept sketches since we don't normally have time to create them. To see what they look like in their final modeled and animated form, buy the game! :)

Next week, we start preordering the Hardy Boys: Treasure on the Tracks Nintendo DS game. The game is going to be in select stores (Best Buy and Gamestop) on 9/8. Already??? YES!!! Look for more information next week...
